Encyclopedia article (Print):

AuthorLastName, FirstInitial. MiddleInitial.  Title of article or entry. In EditorFirstInitial. MiddleInitial. EditorLastName (Ed.), Title of Reference Work (Vol.number, pp.number-number).  City of Publication, State Abbreviation: Publisher Name.

Example:

Fery, J. Stellar's sea cow. In M. Hutchins, (Ed.), Grzimek's Animal Life Encyclopedia, (Vol. 15., pp. 123-124). Detroit, MI: Thomson Gale.


Online Encyclopedia article:

Author LastName, FirstInitial. MiddleInitial. (Year of Publication).  Title of entry or article. Title of Online Reference Work.  Retrieved from http://www.referenceworkhomepage

Example:

Light, A. (2010). Hip-hop in the 21st century. Encyclopedia Brittanica Online Academic Edition.  Retrieved from http://www.britannica.com/
