This is a guide for students of the class College 1 - Professor Julieth Diaz-Benitez in Fall 2024.
Hello! I’m Maria Alejandra Del Real, your class librarian. My role is to assist you in finding high-quality resources for your class assignments. Additionally, I aim to support you as you develop and enhance your research skills and encourage critical thinking about the information you encounter.
Although the library gives you access to many resources, I have chosen a selection of the best tools for your class. I also included Citation Guidance and ways to contact me (or another librarian). Please navigate the guide using the menu tabs on the left, but below you will find the most commonly used links. Also, you have my profile box, where you can email me or set up an appointment for 1-1 help.
Take a few moments to sit down and spend time thinking and writing about your topic.
Ask yourself questions like:
What do I already know about this topic? | What don't I know? | What do I assume? | What questions do I want to answer? | What do I want to say? |
You can try freewriting, moodling, or mapping your ideas, or by simply brainstorming a list of ideas and concepts associated with your topic.
Once you've done that, go back and review what you've written and look for keywords, ideas, and themes that interest you the most.
