Below is a quick video guide to getting started with your Library Research Guide for your final paper. As your librarian I have created a guide for your class with some of what I think are the best tools and resources to use for your paper. You can search beyond the resources I've given you here by searching OneSearch or by visiting the full list of CSM Library databases, but the resources I've collected here are more than enough to get you started with your research.
This short video walks you through the steps to using your research guide, and I also demonstrate a few points of interest on the CSM Library website including where to locate the A to Z list of CSM Library databases, how to chat with a librarian, and how to schedule a research appointment with a librarian.
Use the menu to navigate to resources to help you with your research paper for English. Although the library has a ton of great resources to choose from, your librarian has chosen a selection of the best tools they think are appropriate for your paper. this includes library databases, resources for books and ebooks, reference books for background information and support, and other resources they think might be useful. You will also find Citation and Evaluation resources.
If you need help at any point, you can chat with a CSM Librarian, reach out to your English librarian for help, or schedule an appointment with any of our qualified CSM librarians.
Take a few moments to actually sit down and spend time thinking and writing about your topic.
Ask yourself questions like:
Once you've done that, go back and review what you've written and look for keywords, ideas, and themes to help start your searching.
