Search with OneSearch

OneSearch is the Google of CSM Library's resources. It searches our print and electronic books, as well as millions of articles and other resources. When you search with OneSearch you are casting a larger net (so to speak) than when you're searching in a database. This means you'll get lots more results, and you might find that you need be more strategic in finding good results.

Tips for Searching OneSearch

  1. Try different searches. It's great to start with a few major keywords when you're searching OneSearch, but don't be scared to add more search terms and get specific. Since you're searching a large database with lots of resources, it's a good idea to try different searches to see what works best.
  2. Refine your results. If you're looking for something recent, limit by creation date. If you only want to see peer-review journals, limit to those articles only. The "Refine Your Results" tools to find more relevant resources for your needs.
  3. Browse our shelves. Since OneSearch searches our print collection, find a relevant book or two in the OneSearch catalog and explore the library's print collection upstairs. Since library books are organized by subject area you can browse an area for related titles and resources - you never know what you might find!
