The Institute for Local Government promotes good government at the local level with practical, impartial, and easy-to-use resources for California communities. ILG is not a government agency but an 501(c)(3) organization.

Selected Census data from the San Francisco Bay Area -- provided by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG).

The Association of Bay Area Governments is responsible for making long-term forecasts or population, housing, and employment for the nine-county Bay Area. These forecasts assist local governments in planning for our changing environment. ABAG produces updated forecasts every 2 years and publishes them as Projections.
