Faculty: Reserves for Faculty

Course Reserves

CSM Library Course Reserves services are available for faculty who want to have their course materials available for students to access during the semester. This service is not automatic and requires faculty to contact the library and submit materials to place on reserve each semester.

The reserves system is not designed to provide a copy of every text to every student, but rather to allow all students access to course materials for shorter periods of time so they are able to do readings and homework.

In-Library Course Reserves

Books, textbooks, and readers are the most typical materials place on reserve. CSM Library does not make purchases to fulfill reserve requests, but faculty can place their personal copies on reserve at the library, or use library copies of texts when available.

In-library reserves are typically available to students for limited periods of time to allow for more students to access a limited number of items. Reserve check out period are 2 hours (in-library use), 1 day, 3 day, or 7 day.
